Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Cook to join a team dedicated to high-quality food preparation. You will prepare varied recipes, assemble ingredients, and operate kitchen equipment while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The role emphasizes efficient teamwork, adherence to production guidelines, and a commitment to excellent guest service in a dynamic environment. Prior cooking experience and basic math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to recipes and guidelines
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment
• Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and prepare ingredients
• Safely use knives and other utensils
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers and related equipment
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and use diverse cooking methods
• Arrange and portion foods per guidelines
• Store food adhering to safety policies
• Clean and sanitize work areas and utensils
• Maintain positive customer service and demeanor
• Follow Aramark safety policies including food safety and sanitation
• Ensure security of company assets
