Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a cook to bring recipes to life with fresh ingredients and varied cooking styles. You will work under production guidelines and safety procedures while exploring new cuisines and flavors, within a team-focused environment.

This role emphasizes creativity, accuracy, and customer service as you prepare meals for residents or clients. Qualified candidates have cook experience and food-safety knowledge; you must be able to obtain a food-safety certification.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to recipes.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely use a variety of utensils including knives.
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and use various cooking methods.
• Arrange, garnish and portion food according to guidelines.
• Store food according to safety policies.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
• Maintain courteous service and positive demeanor toward guests.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation policies.
• Ensure security of company assets.
