Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Cook to join our team in West Orange, NJ. You’ll cook and prepare a variety of foods, following recipes and production guidelines while exploring creative methods and flavors.

You’ll work with fresh ingredients and handle standard kitchen equipment, maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service. Experience in cooking and a willingness to obtain food safety certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods per recipes and guidelines.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely use a variety of utensils including knives.
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods.
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food per guidelines.
• Store food per safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor.
• Follow safety policies and ensure asset security.
