Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a motivated Cook to join our on-site dining team. You will prepare a variety of meals following production guidelines and standardized recipes, explore different flavors, and contribute to a safe, clean kitchen environment.

You’ll work with fresh ingredients and commercial equipment, learn new cuisines, and uphold Aramark's food safety standards while delivering friendly service to staff and inmates as required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and safety guidelines.
• Ability to obtain food safety certification.
• Basic math and counting skills.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Sets up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, and peeling.
• Safely uses utensils including knives.
• Operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, steams with various cooking methods.
• Portions food according to guidelines.
• Storing food per safety policies.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment.
• Maintains courteous service to guests and staff.
• Follows Aramark safety policies and asset protection.
