Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with intermediate piping and decorative flowers/borders.
• Knowledge of color theory for buttercream blending and palette coordination.
• Proficient icing techniques including Swiss/American Ganache and various icings/meringues.
• Able to follow recipes, directions, and procedures; strong time management.
• Advanced knife handling and safety.
• Basic math for recipe conversions.
• Strong communication and teamwork; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and professional interaction with customers and vendors.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in a busy bakery setting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes to meet business demand; maintain production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in displays; monitor freshness and rotation.
• Guide Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create custom order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in work area and equipment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage/pricing.
