Hy-Vee Bakery in Rochester, MN is seeking a part-time Bakery Cake Designer to bring customer visions to life with birthday, wedding, and everyday cakes. You'll decorate, plan timelines, and ensure on-time delivery, including wedding cake set ups on site.

You will greet customers, take orders, lead part-time teammates, and collaborate with the bakery team to maintain production schedules while upholding Hy-Vee's cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; we'll provide all the training you need to succeed.
• Strong decorating skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders at the bakery counter, and assist with their needs throughout the store.
• Check daily orders, set up a timeline and production schedule, and verify cake order details (size, deco pack, icing, dates).
• Decorate bakery items in a timely manner and stay current on designs and trends.
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers including cakes and sizes needed, and coordinate with team to meet deadlines.
• Lead and train part-time employees, reviewing their work and ensuring quality and safety.
