Job summary

Hy-Vee in Nebraska is seeking a Bakery Cake Designer to turn customer visions into edible creations while providing friendly service. You’ll decorate custom cakes, manage daily orders, and coordinate with the bakery team to ensure on-time production and attractive displays.

As a lead for part-time staff, you’ll guide coworkers, learn new designs, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while delivering excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.
• Pre employment drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take bakery orders.
• Check orders and set up production timeline and schedule.
• Decorate bakery items and stay current on designs.
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers.
• Lead part-time staff and cross-train.
• Deliver wedding cakes on site outside the store.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Coordinate with Bakery Manager on displays and needs.
