Job summary

Runnells Rehab Center in New Jersey seeks a Creative Arts Therapist to design and deliver expressive therapies for patients under a physician and Activities Director supervision.

You will assess individual needs, plan engaging programs across art, music, drama and recreation, and document progress for the treatment team. BLS and a related degree are required, with at least two years in psychiatric settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts Therapy or related field required.
• Certification in related Creative Arts Therapy field required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Determines patients' interests, attitudes, needs and abilities through interview and observation.
• Plans therapeutic programs considering emotional and physical needs of patients.
• Guides patients in utilizing various therapeutic activities and alternatives.
• Develops and conducts therapeutic programs and activity groups weekly.
• Organizes special events/activities for patients according to seasons/holidays.
