Job summary

Active Day is seeking a dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our center and drive engaging therapeutic recreational programs. You will plan, facilitate, oversee and evaluate activities designed to entertain, connect members, and promote health and well-being.

You will lead staff and volunteers, coordinate schedules, and maintain records while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. This role emphasizes creative leadership and meaningful daily impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BS preferred.
• Two years of activities experience; Certified Activity Professional preferred.
• Experience with seniors or adults with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapeutic recreational assessment on new members to identify interests and needs; maintain records.
• Develop, plan, organize and implement diverse therapeutic programs and publish calendars.
• Interview, onboard and supervise staff, volunteers and floor staff; maintain master activities schedule.
• Manage activity supplies and ensure areas are clean and stocked.
• Coordinate with nursing, transportation, social services and other teams to ensure quality care.
• Participate in staff meetings and cross-functional collaboration to enhance member experience.
