Job summary

Santander Consumer USA Inc. is seeking an Associate in CIB Credit & Portfolio Management to underwrite and monitor a portfolio of complex CRE and other banking loan relationships.

You will help structure deals, prepare credit approval write-ups, and coordinate with legal and documentation teams to ensure timely completions and risk mitigation. Strong modeling and market knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CRE credit experience with underwriting and structuring deals.
• Experience in CRE portfolio management, renewals and risk rating recommendations.
• Experience preparing credit approval memoranda and presenting recommendations to senior credit approvers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deal diligence and identify key risks.
• Review deal documents and data room materials.
• Help structure deals and recommend credit and covenant structures.
• Underwrite CRE transactions including warehouses, term loans, and revolving facilities.
• Prepare credit approval materials for new transactions, renewals, and amendments.
• Present deals and support merit discussions on internal calls.
• Coordinate legal aspects with counsel and documentation teams.
• Monitor portfolio performance and flag emerging risks.
