Santander is seeking an Associate in CIB Credit & Portfolio Management in Miami to underwrite and monitor a portfolio of CRE and other banking loan relationships. The role supports risk management, loan growth, and efficiency initiatives within the team.

You will conduct deal diligence, review documents, structure credit facilities, and prepare internal approval materials while coordinating with legal and documentation teams. Strong CRE underwriting and financial modeling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CRE credit experience, including underwriting and structuring CRE loans and/or CRE warehouse facilities.
• Experience with CRE portfolio management, including surveillance, annual reviews, renewals and extensions.
• Experience preparing credit approval memoranda and presenting recommendations to senior credit approvers.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and monitor a portfolio of complex CRE and other banking loan relationships.
• Conduct deal diligence and assess key risks.
• Review deal documents, information from sponsors, and third-party reports.
• Structure deals and recommend credit and covenant structures.
• Collaborate with front office on underwriting CRE transactions (warehouse, repurchase facilities, term loans, revolvers).
• Prepare credit approval materials for new transactions, renewals, amendments and annual reviews.
• Coordinate with counsel and documentation teams on legal aspects.
• Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and concentrations; flag emerging risks.
