Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a warehouse/inventory associate to accurately provide inventory information and manage stock at multiple Alabama branches. Responsibilities include receiving shipments, moving materials, data entry, tagging, and ensuring accuracy on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

The role requires basic math and English literacy, forklift or similar equipment certification, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
  • Basic computer/data entry skills for inventory system.
  • Ability to use tape measure and calipers for inspection/measurement.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
  • Able to stand, bend, lift up to 40 lbs., with or without accommodation.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Handle material receiving and movement between locations.
  • Coordinate material flow to support production needs.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed.
  • Enter data accurately into the inventory system.
  • Maintain inventory tags and perform consolidation tasks.
  • Identify shortages and communicate with staff.
  • Support quality assurance and debris/ scrap verification.
  • Participate in health, safety, and Lean initiatives.
  • Work on warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Job Summary

To accurately provide inventory information for company controlled material stock. Monitor, organize and maintain inventory of company product at multiple branch locations.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill
  • Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements
  • Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags
  • Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket
  • Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate to appropriate staff
  • Perform verification of scrap
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
  • Assist quality assurance team in activities related to credits
  • Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean up
  • Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery
  • Meet all other TKMNA employee attributes and competencies

Shift Times:
  • 1st shift: 6am-2pm
  • 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm
  • 3rd shift: 10pm-6am
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management system
  • Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment, examples include forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry-picker
Preferred requirements:
  • Some college course work, leading toward completion of degree
  • 3 years of material control or inventory experience
  • Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, etc.)
