Job summary

Thyssenkrupp is seeking a Warehouse Inventory Associate to accurately provide inventory information for company controlled material stock and to monitor, organize across multiple branch locations.

You will complete material receiving, move stock to processing, perform data entry in the inventory management system, tag materials, identify shortages and support quality assurance and lean initiatives on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read/write English and perform basic math.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory system.
  • Ability to use tape measure and calipers for inspection/measurement.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in written work and data entry.
  • Able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. with/without accommodations.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry-picker).

Responsibilities

  • Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or from the mill.

  • Prepare and maintain inventory identification tags.
  • Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket.
  • Identify shortages and communicate to staff.
  • Verify scrap as needed.
  • Maintain high accuracy in all work.
  • Assist QA team with credits.
  • Perform equipment preventative maintenance and cleanup.
  • Support health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities
  • Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill
  • Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements
  • Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags
  • Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket
  • Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate to appropriate staff
  • Perform verification of scrap
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
  • Assist quality assurance team in activities related to credits
  • Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean up
  • Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery
  • Meet all other TKMNA employee attributes and competencies

Shift Times
  • 1st shift: 6am-2pm
  • 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm
  • 3rd shift: 10pm-6am
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry

Preferred Requirements
  • Some college course work, leading toward completion of degree
  • 3 years of material control or inventory experience
  • Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, etc.)
