Job summary

Jasper Engine Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Gas Engine - Crank Polisher to grind crankshaft journals on a dedicated lathe. You will read micrometers to ensure precise surface dimensions and position parts from floor racks for machine setup and shipment.

The role requires hands-on maintenance and self-direction in a fast-paced shop environment. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:15am to 4:45pm with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for an 8–10 hour shift.
• Experience reading micrometers and using profilometers.

Responsibilities

• Grind crankshaft journals on a grinding lathe.
• Read micrometers to verify surface dimensions.
• Position crankshafts from floor racks for loading and shipment.
• Perform machine setup and preventive maintenance.

Job Description

Gas Engine - Crank Polisher Job Overview: Grinding crankshaft rod and main journals using a crankshaft grinding lathe. This is a self-directed position requiring the person to read and understand micrometers to accurately machine the surfaces. Requires positioning crankshaft from a floor rack into the machine and into a floor rack for shipment. Knowing, understanding, and performing machine set-up and preventive maintenance is required.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 6:15am-4:45pm Overtime available

Qualifications

The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs. The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours) The ability to use handheld tools such as Handheld mic’s, check for the size of the product, handheld profilometers is a tool to check surface finishes. Standing: continuously Walking: occasionally Sitting: NONE Stooping (forward leaning): occasionally Reaching/Working Overhead: NONE

• Starting rate $20.00 + based on experience.
