Job summary

Sterling Crane LLC in Beaumont, Texas seeks a skilled Crane Rigger to operate a variety of lifting equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites. You will select the appropriate crane and lift, verify plans, assess ground conditions and overhead clearances, and maintain logs while coordinating with ground operators to ensure safe, productive lifts.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 3 years of experience with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
• Current TWIC card.
• Pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
• Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
• Must have strong ability work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist
• Inspects and assesses ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections, to include performance of routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintain logs and records of operational activities
• Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

Duties and Responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Skills

Physical Requirements

• Strong depth perception and quick reaction time
• Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65lbs
• Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold
