Job summary

Sterling Crane LLC in Beaumont, TX is seeking a skilled crane operator to safely operate heavy lifting equipment and perform routine maintenance. You will inspect ground conditions, maintain logs, and communicate with the ground crew to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires a Class A CDL, NCCCO certification, and 3+ years of crane experience. You will work with a team, adapt to overtime, and uphold stringent safety standards on your projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience operating rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
  • Must hold Class A CDL and NCCCO Crane Operator License.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions.
  • Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
  • Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary.
  • Maintain safety in a team environment and follow site procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery per procedures and guidelines.
  • Inspect ground conditions and identify overhead obstructions.
  • Maintain equipment with daily inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Keep logs and records of operational activities.
  • Maintain clear visual and radio communications with ground operators and respond promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist
  • Inspects and assesses ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions
  • Maintain equipment through daily inspections, to include performance of routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain logs and records of operational activities
  • Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes
  • Class A CDL
  • Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements
  • Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary
  • Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
  • Must have strong ability work well within a team environment
Physical Requirements
  • Strong depth perception and quick reaction time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 65 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. regularly
  • Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold
