Sterling Crane LLC, part of Marmon Holdings, Inc. and Berkshire Hathaway, seeks a CDL Crane Operator for its San Antonio/Pleasanton, TX branch. You’ll safely operate heavy lifting equipment and contribute to a safety-driven team within a global industrial group.

Role requires Class A CDL, NCCCO crane operator credential, 3+ years crane experience, and ability to read technical drawings. Marmon offers equal opportunity employment and growth across 120+ companies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
• Class A CDL.
• Must pass post-offer drug and physical screens and have a suitable background.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Maintain NCCCO Crane Operator license for qualified equipment.

Responsabilités

• Operate a variety of crane equipment safely per procedures and guidelines.
• Inspect ground conditions and obstructions; select and set up crane equipment.
• Maintain daily equipment inspections and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Keep logs/records of operational activities.
• Communicate with ground operators using signals and radio per safety rules.

CDL Crane Operator

Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist
• Inspects and assesses ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections, to include performance of routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain logs and records of operational activities
• Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3+ years experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes
• Class A CDL
• Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements
• Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary
• Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
• Must have strong ability work well within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Strong depth perception and quick reaction time
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 65 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly
• Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold
