Job summary

Sterling Crane LLC, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking Crane Riggers in Baytown, Texas. Join a global industrial organization with Berkshire Hathaway backing and a focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Operate and inspect a range of lifting equipment, follow procedures, maintain logs, and coordinate with ground personnel. Requires 3+ years of crane experience, a TWIC card, and the ability to pass background and drug screens. Eligible for competitive benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years experience with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
• Must hold a valid TWIC card and pass pre-employment drug and physical screens.
• Pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a suitable background.
• Dependable with flexibility to work overtime.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of crane, lift, or hoist equipment safely per procedures.
• Assess ground conditions and identify overhead obstructions.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; maintain equipment logs.
• Maintain radio/hand signal communication with ground operators.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist
• Inspects and assesses ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections, to include performance of routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain logs and records of operational activities
• Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes
• Current TWIC card
• Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements
• Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
• Must have strong ability work well within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Strong depth perception and quick reaction time
• Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65lbs.
• Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold
