Job summary

Ellwood National Steel Company is seeking a dedicated team member to support heavy industrial operations in Irvine. The role involves manual material handling, crane-related tasks, and staying compliant with safety standards in a dynamic foundry environment.

You will perform unloading, equipment maintenance assistance and cross-training to back up the Electric Arc Furnace Operator, with opportunities for growth and skill development within ENS.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret procedures and other written forms of communication.
• Ability to process and complete written or oral instructions.
• Ability to apply basic math including fractions, percentages and units of weight measure.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner with internal and external customers.
• Crane operation experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, Receive and Unload railroad cars and trucks of scrap metal.
• Perform material handling tasks.
• Assist with maintenance and relining of arc furnace.

What You'll Do:

• Inspect, Receive and Unload railroad cars and trucks of scrap metal
• Perform material handling tasks
• Assist with maintenance and relining of arc furnace

• Performs other duties, assignments and projects as deemed necessary

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb and bend. The employee is regularly required to use hand and fingers to handle objects and controls and reach with arms and hands. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in extreme weather, is frequently exposed to airborne particles and occasionally exposed to fumes. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
