Job summary

Vaagen Bros. Lumber Inc. in Colville, WA is seeking a Crane Operator on swing shift to unload log trucks and feed inventory to the mill while maintaining safety and productivity.

40+ hours weekly with full benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, LTD, PTO, and 401k with match. Candidates must pass drug tests and pre-employment physicals. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, organizing yards, coordinating with production schedules, and performing basic maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Technical troubleshooting skills and depth perception.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Must be 18+ and able to pass safety and background checks.
• Lean techniques and experience preferred.
• Drug test and pre-employment physical required.

Responsibilities

• Unload log trucks, load log decks, merchandiser, and place logs in decks.
• Feed logs to the sawmill according to production schedule.
• Keep the log yard neat and organized.
• Assist with preventive/predictive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform mandatory inspection and recordkeeping before use.
• Understand crane mechanics and communicate with team.
• Apply Lock-out Tag-out procedures and maintain a safe area.
• Ensure tools and supplies are in home locations and maintain communication.
• Fill maintenance requests and Idea Cards when needed.
