Job summary

Vaagen Bros. Lumber Inc. in Colville, WA is seeking a Crane Operator for swing shift to unload log trucks and feed the mill according to the production schedule.

This hands-on role requires safety focus, good depth perception, and clear communication with team members. You will keep log yards organized and assist with maintenance.

Eligible candidates must be 18+, have HS Diploma or GED, pass background checks, drug tests, and a pre-employment physical; Lean experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload log trucks, load decks, merchandiser, and place logs in decks.
• Feed the appropriate logs to the sawmill according to the production schedule.
• Keep the log yard neat and organized.
• Assist with preventive/predictive maintenance activities on equipment.
• Perform mandatory inspection and recordkeeping before use.
• Understand the crane mechanics and communicate with team members.
• Know and apply Lock-out Tag-out procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Ensure tools and supplies are in their home locations.
• Maintain communication with team members.
• Submit maintenance requests and Idea Cards as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
