Vaagen Bros. Lumber Inc. is seeking a Lead Millwright for the swing shift in Colville, WA.

This full-time role leads a maintenance team, manages scheduling, and drives Lean transformation within the plant. Responsibilities

• Entry level laborer duties, including stacking boards, general cleanup, removal of wood waste and debris
• Promote Safety to the team and lead safety initiatives
• Build communication bridges between departments for quality and production changes
• Assist in training and mentoring of new employees

The primary role of the Maintenance Lead position on swing shift is to leadand supervise a team, including but not limited to maintenance flow and scheduling, creating a culture of teamwork and cooperation between major processing segments and integration of operating personnel and maintenance staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Manage the maintenance team on swing shift including but not limited to, time clock management, performance reviews, disciplinary action, and training


• Perform various tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor


• Coaching and mentoring team members


• Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air & conveying systems


• Perform all preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and welding repair tasks


• Stick welding, electrical, and hydraulic repair


• Heavy equipment and machinery repair


• Performs mandatory visual inspection of the equipment and facilities before use


• Promote Safety to the team members and be an example of taking the lead in putting safety 1 st .


• Build sustainable communication bridges between departments for quality, production changes, and inventory plans.


• Assist in training and mentoring of new employees


• Performs mandatory visual inspection of the equipment and facilities before use


• Know, Understand, and Apply the Lock-out Tag-out procedures


• Entry level laborer duties, including but not limited to, stacking boards, general cleanup, removal of wood waste and debris, and tending machines


• Maintain lines of communication with other team members


• Ensure tools, supplies, and equipment are in their “home locations” at all times


• Maintain a clean and safe work area


• Learning and applying lean business practices


• Fill out a maintenance request and Idea Cards when needed


• Other duties as assigned
