SJ Hamill Construction, LLC is seeking a Crane Operator with NCCCO certification to operate friction, hydraulic, and barge-mounted cranes for lifting and positioning materials on marine and heavy civil projects. You will collaborate with riggers and supervisors to ensure lifts meet plans and safety protocols.

Qualified candidates have at least five years of crane experience, including pile driving and critical lifts.

Qualifications

• NCCCO certified crane operator with valid credentials.
• Minimum 5 years of crane experience, including pile driving and critical lifts.
• Proficiency in pre-shift inspections and able to identify mechanical issues.
• Industry-standard crane safety knowledge and awareness of work-site hazards.
• Ability to operate hydraulic and friction cranes across marine/heavy civil environments.
• Capable of performing load calculations and interpreting lift plans.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate cranes to lift, move, and place materials according to project specifications and lift plans.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance to ensure safe operation.
• Set up cranes per manufacturer guidelines and project requirements, including outriggers, counterweights, and swing radius protection.
• Coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and supervisors to ensure lifts are properly rigged and communicated.
• Maintain awareness of site conditions, including weather and overhead obstructions.
• Operate cranes from land or barge platforms in marine and heavy civil settings.
• Assist in load calculations and review of lift plans as required.
• Document equipment use, maintenance, and inspection logs per company and regulatory standards.
• Comply with OSHA and site safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

• NCCCO Certified
• Minimum 5 years' experience with pile driving and critical lifts.
• Proficiency in pre-shift inspections and able to identify mechanical issues.
• Industry level knowledge of crane safety and work site hazards
• Ability to operate both hydraulic and friction cranes.
• Ability to operate cranes performing duty cycle work.
