Job summary

McRay Crane & Rigging, Inc. in Greater Houston is seeking a full-time Crane Operator to run hydraulic cranes and support heavy lifting operations on-site.

You will perform setup per job plans, follow lift plans, and coordinate with rigging crews and supervisors to move materials safely. Responsibilities include pre/post-operation inspections, chart-based lifting, safety adherence, and documenting operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with lifting operations, following load charts.
• Experience with hydraulic cranes and forklifts.
• Crane and lifting gear inspections, pre-use checks.
• Knowledge of cranes setup, operation, shutdown procedures.
• Valid CDL.
• Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO) and clean driving record.
• OSHA and industry safety standards knowledge.
• Ability to read lift plans and site layouts; strong safety mindset.
• Reliable attendance; able to work outdoors; willing to work flexible hours.
• Previous crane, rigging, or construction operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic cranes and related heavy lifting equipment to move, lift, and position materials at customer sites.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Set up cranes according to job plans and lift plans.
• Follow load charts and lift plans; coordinate lifts with rigging crews and job supervisors.
• Adhere to all safety regulations; document operations and inspections.
• Support rigging and hauling activities as needed; maintain clear communication with team members and customers.
