Job summary

McRay Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking a on-site Rigger in the Greater Houston area to safely set up, attach, and secure loads for crane and forklift operations.

The Rigger will inspect rigging gear, select slings and hardware, and coordinate with crane operators to ensure safe lifts. Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of rigging principles, load calculations, and safety procedures, plus the ability to read lift plans and signals.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of rigging principles and load calculations.
• Experience with slings, shackles, and rigging hardware.
• Ability to read lift plans and follow hand/radio signals.
• Experience around cranes, forklifts, and heavy equipment.
• Commitment to OSHA safety standards and PPE.
• High school diploma or equivalent; rigging/crane training preferred.
• Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and secure loads for crane and forklift operations.
• Inspect rigging equipment and select slings and hardware.
• Coordinate with crane operators and crew to perform lifts safely.
• Maintain clean work area and report equipment issues.
