Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate cranes used in heavy lifting and transport.
• Manage slings, cables, straps, and the crane prior to lifting operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and continuous crane operation.
• Supervise crane oiling and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Maintain communication with riggers via radio or hand signals during operations.
• Promote open communication regarding safety issues.
• Participate in safety meetings and programs.
• Ensure all lifts are within load limits and correctly rigged.
• Inspect lifting gear before use.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Complete and adhere to lift plans.
• Operate crane equipment safely and efficiently to hoist materials.

Requirements

• National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Certification with Telescopic Boom Cranes - Swing Cab (TLL) written exams.
• Adhere to safety regulations and instructions.
• Accurately judge distances and slopes.
• Make decisions based on verifiable standards.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and use hands, arms, and legs fully.
• Good vision and hearing (corrected or natural).
• Work in dusty or dirty environments.
• Pass equipment operator qualification testing/observation.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Ten years of verifiable and relevant crane operator experience preferred.
