Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced crane operator in Maryland to operate lattice boom crawlers for dredge rig projects. The role requires NCCCO (or CIC) with LBC designation, 4–10 years of related experience, and proficiency in reading safety documents and writing routine reports.

You will ensure load chart compliance, use standard hand signals, and perform regular crane maintenance and safety checks on site.

Qualifications

• NCCCO (or CIC) with LBC designation required.
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Operate lattice boom crawler to run dredge rig within safety parameters.
• Check all fluids before starting engine.
• Level crane using inside cab controls and leveling bubble.
• Observe load rigging or hookup and determine safety of load using load chart.
• Always operate within parameters of load chart.
• Understand and use standard hand signals.
• Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
• Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions immediately.

• Checks all fluids before starting engine
• Levels crane using inside cab controls and levelling bubble
• Observes load rigging or hookup and determines safety of load using load chart
• Always operates within parameters of load chart
• Understands and makes use of standard hand signals
• Manipulates or depresses crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism
• Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions immediately

Requirements

• NCCCO (or CIC) with LBC designation required
• TLL designation preferred
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training
• Experience must be commensurate with requirements of project
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports
