Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Crane Operator for projects in Washington, DC, Saluda, VA, and Richmond, VA, with LAT/TLL designations and DOT medical card. Five-plus years of related experience, plus license requirements (DC operator’s license for Blue Plains).

Role involves maintenance, safe operation, and compliance on heavy civil projects. The position requires rigorous adherence to load charts, signaling, rigging safety, and thorough crane inspections.

Qualifications

• NCCCO (or CIC) with LAT and TLL designations required.
• DOT medical card required.
• DC Operators License required for Blue Plains project in Washington, DC.
• 5+ years related experience and/or training.
• Experience with bridge or utility projects and hydraulic or friction cranes.

Responsibilities

• Checks all fluids before starting engine.
• Levels crane using inside cab controls and levelling bubble.
• Observes load rigging or hookup and determines safety of load using load chart.
• Always operates within parameters of load chart.
• Understands and makes use of standard hand signals.
• Manipulates crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
• Operates with a smooth and controlled manner.
• Uses hoisting attachments as load requires.
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Inspects crane for defects and notifies supervisor of defects.
