Job description

GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

As a Marine Crane Operator in Nashville TN, at Garney Construction, you will be responsible for performing heavy picks on a floating barge using a lattice boom or hydraulic crane. Crane operator may utilize various pile driving equipment. This role requires teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to safety on the water. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our marine services.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Picking heavy pipe, miscellaneous equipment, setting spuds on the barge and driving sheets on land.

  • Perform daily inspections on equipment to ensure proper function.

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the deck and equipment, including cleaning deck/barge, equipment and report any equipment malfunctions or repairs.

  • Follow all safety protocols and assist in safety drills. Ensure that safety equipment is accessible and in good condition.

  • Support other crew members in their tasks as needed, maintaining effective communication and teamwork.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Must have a NCCCO Crane Operator License for Lattice boom and hydraulic cranes.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience operating a hydraulic lattice boom and crawler cranes.

  • Basic understanding of rigging, working loads and signals.

  • Experience from working from floating barges is desired.

  • Must be willing to work overtime.

  • Basic Safety Training (BST) or equivalent certifications preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be physically fit and able to perform tasks that require lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.

  • Must be able to Travel (REQUIRED)
