Position Details

• Reports to: Branch Manager

Company Overview

Southway Crane & Rigging is seeking experienced full-time crane operators to join our growing branch. Candidates must meet all listed requirements to be considered.

Summary

Ensure safety, proper crane setup, and customer focus. Comply with all safety, environmental, state, and federal laws during operations and while operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

1. Review next day’s job assignments and prepare all necessary rigging and equipment at the end of each shift.
2. Complete and submit Field Tickets, noting any chargeable equipment used.
3. Maintain daily payroll records and report hours to the branch by Monday 10:00 a.m.
4. If not on a job, inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on equipment; stay productive.
5. Answer phones and pagers promptly.
6. Assist in crane operation training.
7. Review crane manuals periodically.
8. Inspect, clean, and organize equipment and facilities.
9. Read and interpret load charts and perform load calculations.
10. Program crane computers and set up cranes safely on-site.
11. Ensure signal persons understand and perform proper hand signals.
12. Perform proper rigging for safe lifting.
13. Inspect vehicles and complete inspection reports before operation.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current CDL A license with no restrictions.
• Crane operating license (NCCCO or NCCER certified).
• Minimum 3 years of hydraulic crane operation experience.
• Ability to operate crane via hand signals.
