A Snapshot of Your Day

A Crane Operator utilizes overhead cranes to move large generator rotors (15 to 200 tons) throughout various steps of the production process.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Safely rig, lift, transport, and load generator rotors onto fixed stands, roller stands, and machines, such as lathes and horizontal boring mills.
• Regularly inspect lifting equipment.
• Assist with mechanical hand skills tasks in other work areas of the department such as rotor winding, assembly, and balance on an as needed basis.
• Engage in continuous improvement by applying 5S methodology as a component of a Lean production system.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating a crane.
• Ability to obtain a critical lift crane operation license via internal training department. Previous experience is preferred.
• Ability to obtain fork truck license via internal training department. Previous experience is preferred.
• Successful applicants must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
• Legal ability to live and work in the United States.
