Job summary

Georgia Ports Authority is seeking an Assistant Manager of Operations - Cranes to oversee crane operations at Garden City Terminal. You will schedule crews and equipment, supervise safety, and ensure efficient vessel handling and cargo movement.

Reporting to the Manager of Crane Operations, you will maintain records, oversee training, and drive continuous improvement in uptime and productivity while coordinating with ship operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• General working knowledge of heavy equipment and rigging.
• Knowledge of cranes regulations and maintenance.
• Ability to climb and work at high elevations.
• Willingness to work all shifts including nights and weekends.
• Strong teamwork and communication with GPA staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Schedules daily work of employees and equipment.
• Establishes work priorities and inspects sites for safety compliance.
• Trains and counsels employees; maintains crane operation records.
• Provides reports on cranes, personnel, production and downtime.
• Investigates incidents and maintains root-cause records.
