Job summary

Norfolk Naval Shipyard is seeking a Supervisory Maintenance Zone Manager within the Crane Management Division to lead and coordinate maintenance operations for critical lifting and handling equipment, including nuclear and non-nuclear systems.

The role requires experience in project management, workload forecasting, and the ability to influence decision-makers to follow optimal maintenance strategies. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required as part of this position.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience at GS-11 or equivalent in DoD or private/public sector.
• Experience with workload forecasting.
• Experience with project management including scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating resources.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all work within the assigned Crane Maintenance Division area.
• Oversee overhaul, maintenance and repair for shipyard’s nuclear, refueling, and non-nuclear weight handling equipment.
• Coordinate implementation of Crane Maintenance Division policy within your cognizance area.
• Oversee overhaul, maintenance and repair of special purpose equipment assigned to lifting and handling, nuclear support functions.
