Job summary

Radius Recycling, Inc. seeks an Equipment Operator C to operate cranes and loaders and other heavy equipment in a scrap yard in Tacoma, WA. The role centers on lifting, moving, and placing materials while complying with health, safety and environmental standards.

You will coordinate with yard staff, verify load weights, and perform basic maintenance reporting. A High School diploma or GED and related training or experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Related training or experience operating the different types of equipment referenced.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Metals Recycling Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Operates cranes and other equipment to lift, move, or place loads.
• Determines load weights and checks against lifting capacities.
• Loads/unloads bundles from trucks and moves material to/from containers.
• Avoids hazards and obstructions; follows signals from crew members.
• Coordinates machine actions with other activities in the yard.
• Provides backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed.
• Completes paperwork for crane inspections and reports deficiencies.
• Performs basic sorting of scrap and prep for processing.
• Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
