Job summary

Joyce Steel Erection, Ltd. is seeking a Crane Helper to rig up and down cranes, assist in aligning and setting up, and support crane operators on job sites in Longview, TX. The role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to travel, with work across all shifts.

Candidates must pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol test, and a 7-year background check; basic mechanical skills; valid driver's license; and a commitment to safety and housekeeping on site.

Qualifications

• Must pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol screen, and 7 year background check.
• Able to travel and work all days and times; flexible schedule.
• Must have basic mechanical skills.
• Must follow directions from crane operator.
• Aids in align, level and setting up crane.
• Aids in assembly/disassembly under supervision.
• Knowledge of crane and rigging considerations (hitches, shackles, load angles).
• Must be able to be assigned the designated signalman role.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of job site.
• Pull trailers with pickup for additional rigging.
• Control movements of loads with tagging and signaling.

Responsibilities

• Aid in arranging crane setup and alignment on site.
• Assist crane operator with lifting, moving and placing loads.
• Follow safety practices and wear PPE at all times.
• Keep job site clean and organized; report hazards promptly.
