Job summary

Marmon Holdings is seeking personnel for Joyce Steel Erection, Ltd. as part of its global industrial organization. The role requires basic mechanical skills, willingness to travel, and flexibility to work all days and times in a 24/7 operation.

You will follow directions from crane operators and assist with crane setup and rigging. Candidates must pass DOT physical and background checks, and comply with all safety and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol screen, and 7 year background check.
• Basic mechanical skills are required.
• Flexible schedule, able to travel and work all days and times since the company operates 24/7.
• Must follow directions from supervisor and crane operator.
• Aid in align, level and setting up crane.
• Aid in assembly/disassembly under supervision of crane operator.
• Knowledge of crane and rigging considerations (hitches, shackles, load angles, weights, CG, tag line).
• Able to be assigned as signalman to assist crane operator with loads.

Responsibilities

• Aid in alignment, leveling and setup of the crane.
• Assist in assembly/disassembly under the crane operator's supervision.
• Attach load lifting devices to crane and loads safely.
• Ensure safety of all by using safe practices and PPE.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of job site and equipment.
• Pull trailers with pickup for additional rigging and follow crane to job site.
• Control movements of loads using tag line and signaling of the crane.

• MUST BE A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, ABLE TO TRAVEL AND WORK ALL DAYS AND TIMES. THE COMPANY OPERATES 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
• MUST FOLLOW DIRECTION FOR SUPERVISION
• MUST FOLLOW DIRECTION FROM CRANE OPERATOR
• AID IN ALIGN, LEVEL AND AID IN SETTING UP CRANE
• AID IN ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY UNDER SUPERVISION OF CRANE OPERATOR
• HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CRANE AND RIGGING CONSIDERATIONS (HITCHES, SHACKLES, LOAD ANGLES, LOAD WEIGHTS, CENTER OF GRAVITY, TAG LINE, ETC.)
• MUST BE ABLE TO BE ASSIGNED THE DESIGATED SIGNALMAN TO HELP THE CRANE OPERATOR ATTACH, LIFT, MOVE, AND SET LOADS
• MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
• AID IN CLEANLINESS AND HOUSEKEEPING OF JOB SITE AND MOBILE CRANE
• PULL TRAILERS WITH PICK UP FOR ADDITIONAL RIGGING AND FOLLOW CRANE TO JOB SITE.
• CONTROL MOVEMENTS OF LOADS BY WAY OF A TAGLINE AND SIGNALING OF THE CRANE
• MUST HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY OF CRANE AND ALL COMPONENTS
• ATTACH LOAD LIFTING DEVICES TO CRANE AND TO LOAD IN A SAFE MANNER
• ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVED BY UTILIZING SAFE PRACTICES
• WEARING REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT WHILE PERFORMING WORK
• MAINTAIN POSITIVE ATTITIUDE WITH CUSTOMERS
