Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging in Memphis is seeking a skilled mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair cranes and heavy equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including advanced electronics, and work on engines, booms, brakes, tires, and hydraulics across shop and field environments.

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years of experience with cranes, diesel, or heavy equipment.
• Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Experience reading schematics and working with electronics.
• Mechanically minded with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Occasional travel for field work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cranes and heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including advanced electronics.
• Work on engines, booms, brakes, tires, and hydraulic components.
• Handle equipment breakdowns and repairs across the branch fleet.
• Use tools like IFS systems, tablets, and crane-specific software to track work.
• Support both shop and field work, including job sites as needed.
