Job summary

Maxim Crane Works, LP, a leader in crane rental and heavy equipment, seeks an experienced Dispatcher in Portland, OR to ensure timely delivery of cranes and support equipment to job sites. You will guide and supervise Crane Operators, Drivers and Support Personnel.

You will evaluate labor/equipment needs, coordinate with branches, manage permits, inspections, and ELD compliance, and maintain strong customer relations across the fleet.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of construction or fleet-related experience with transportation or heavy equipment.
• 3+ years' experience using CMMS (JD Edwards) in dispatcher or scheduling role.
• Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of local geography.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate labor and equipment needs, assign and dispatch, and maintain communication with Operators and Drivers.
• Coordinate with Branch Manager and other branches to optimize scheduling and resource use.
• Evaluate crane fleet cleanliness, maintenance, and yard tasks; liaise with Service Manager for repairs.
• Ensure permits, registrations, and insurance cards are up to date and compliant with DOT laws.
• Review inspections, ELD compliance, and daily/weekly hours; verify time sheets and job tickets.
• Assign daily tasks the day before jobs; print lift plans and maps as needed.
• Update time bars in Job Cost and align with time sheets.
• Communicate regularly with Sales and Operations on availability, lift plans, and job details.
