Job summary

Capco Crane & Hoist, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Crane Service Technician to install, inspect, maintain and repair hoist and crane equipment. The role requires 2–5 years of crane/hoist troubleshoot experience, strong electrical knowledge, and overhead crane/scissor lift experience.

Local travel is required; a valid driver’s license is essential. Applicants should have an Associate’s degree preferred in Industrial Electrician/Electro-Mechanical Technology and be able to work independently

Qualifications

2–5 years troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment.
Thorough electrical knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
Local travel to customers daily.
Valid driver’s license; driving record/background check.
Ability to work at height and in extreme temperatures; physically demanding (lift 50–100 lbs).
Associate’s degree in Industrial Electrician/Electro-Mechanical Technology preferred.
Ability to work independently and communicate job status clearly.
Employment contingent upon motor vehicle record, background check, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
Support customers by interfacing with customers and internal departments in repairing equipment as needed.
Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
Maintain rapport with customers by reviewing complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improvements.
Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
Develop knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
Responsible for company equipment including vehicles, trailers, tools, etc.
