Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is seeking an Assistant Service Manager in Houston to supervise Technicians and service administrative staff, ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability.

You will partner with the Service Manager and Safety Director to maintain a safe work environment and oversee scheduling, documentation, and billing for field and shop repairs. The role requires diagnosing and coordinating parts, ensuring proper documentation, and providing strong leadership to field crews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as crane mechanic with 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficient in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and LMI systems on various equipment lines.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, smartphones, and tablets.
• Ability to train employees and improve processes and procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone and provide solutions.
• Scheduling management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Field calls regarding service on equipment at job sites.
• Schedule technicians for field service calls.
• Lookup and order parts for field service repairs.
• Proofread and approve timesheets for field service technicians.
• Schedule all planned maintenance for lube and field service technicians.
• Ensure all service documents are complete and accurate.
• Provide service billing with costs and documents for field repairs billed to customers.
• On-call nights and weekends as required.
• Submit all service docs to Service Admin for uploading.
• Provide customers with required service/inspection documents.
• Create and complete work orders for shop and field repairs.
