Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. in Houston, TX is hiring an Assistant Service Manager to supervise technicians and service staff, manage field calls, schedule maintenance, and ensure safety and profitability.

You will coordinate parts, document work orders, and support service billing while delivering excellent customer service. The role requires 3+ years as crane mechanic and 1–2 years supervisory experience, strong diagnostic skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a crane mechanic, plus 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and LMI systems.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and mobile devices; able to train staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues remotely and schedule work efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Field calls regarding service on equipment on the job sites.
• Schedule technicians for service calls in the field.
• Order parts for field service repairs as needed.
• Proofread and approve all timesheets for field service technicians.
• Schedule all planned maintenance for lube and field service technicians.
• Ensure all service documents are complete and accurate.
• Provide service billing with costs and documents for invoicing.
• Be on-call nights and weekends as required.
• Ensure service docs are uploaded to Service Admin.
• Provide customers with required service/inspection documentation.
• Create and complete work orders for repairs in shop and field.
