Job summary

Southway Crane Company is seeking a capable dispatcher with experience in industrial scheduling and crane operations to coordinate lift tasks, rigging, and on-site instructions. The role involves interacting with customers, scheduling crane crews, and ensuring safe, efficient lifts following load charts and company procedures.

The ideal candidate has 3–7 years in dispatching and crane operations, with strong mechanical and analytical skills and high school or GED completion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• College degree preferred.
• 3–7 years of industrial dispatching/scheduling duties.
• 3–7 years of crane operations, and proper rigging techniques.
• Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives incoming calls from external and internal customers and records details on the daily schedule.
• Assigns operators and/or riggers for each job task with location and timing.
• Notes job site directions, crane size, rigging requirements, and invoicing details for billing.
• Completes job tickets with task description, locations, times, crane size, and billing method.
• Coordinates with on-call personnel to manage overlapping schedules and resource constraints.
• Reviews scheduled assignments with on-call staff at end of shift and communicates any upcoming tasks.
• Reads and applies manufacturer load charts to ensure crane lifts are within safe limits to perform the task.
