Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to support craftsmen on construction sites.

The role emphasizes teamwork, lifting up to 50 lbs, and the use of power tools. A two-year apprenticeship is preferred, with a strong focus on safety and reliability across diverse crews.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a two-year apprenticeship.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools (vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers).
• Strong teamwork orientation; good communication and active listening.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.

• Tend mortar and grout.
• Move and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and debris removal, including sweeping and washing.

Job description

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend mortar and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have completed a two (2) year apprenticeship
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
