Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is hiring for an in-store Event Coordinator in Silverdale, WA. You will plan and run kids’ birthday parties and other crafts events, guiding participants and providing a fun, engaging experience while helping customers shop and check out quickly.

You will also manage event add-ons, communicate clearly with clients and team members, handle administrative tasks, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards across the store.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills (written, verbal, nonverbal).
• Must have organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties and craft events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate crafts, perform face painting and activities.
• Arrange add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle emails, phone calls and paperwork; adjust plans per feedback.
• Ensure client satisfaction and safety; maintain store cleanliness during events.
