Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking an energetic part-time Event Coordinator to help guests enjoy a stress-free, fun experience in our Columbus, GA store. You will coordinate events like kids' birthday parties, demonstrate art activities, and guide customers through purchases.

You’ll also assist with checkouts, inquiries, and add-ons while maintaining store standards. Ideal candidates will have retail or customer service experience, strong communication, and a passion for creativity.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic; ability to handle stress and interact with guests of all ages.
• Excellent people skills and experience with children’s events are essential.
• Strong communication (written, verbal, nonverbal) and listening skills required.
• Well organized with interpersonal skills and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and provide fast, friendly checkout experiences.
• Coordinate and facilitate events, including kids’ birthday parties and crafts.
• Set up, run, and break down events; manage goody bags, balloons, and add-ons.
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist with stock and merchandising as needed.
• Engage customers, promote rewards programs, and enroll new members.
• Comply with SOPs and safety standards; support omni-channel processes.
