Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and deliver in-store events such as children’s birthday parties and craft classes. The role emphasizes friendly customer service, helping shoppers, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required
• Must have excellent people skills
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities
• Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards
• Communicate events with clients and store team members and handle administrative tasks
