Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA is seeking a Foreman to supervise and train a production team of 12-15 apprentices, ensuring quality and adherence to procedures. A related education path includes a Bachelor's or Apprentice Certification or equivalent experience in manufacturing or shipbuilding.

The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, full-time on-site work with a 1st shift, no relocation, and no telework eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, Apprentice Certification, or high school with 4 years in manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience.
• Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical plus 3 years relevant experience accepted.
• Must supervise and train trades staff, and coordinate apprentices.
• Strong communication, leadership, and scheduling skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel.
• Trains employees to improve quality and productivity; develops training procedures.
• Manages scheduling and documentation for area of responsibility.
• Ensures compliance with drawings, procedures and safety requirements.
