Job summary

USCG Community Services Command in Yorktown, VA seeks a Bartender for the MWR Yorktown Club Bar on an intermittent schedule. You will prepare alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, serve patrons, and maintain a clean, stocked, and compliant bar area.

You will handle cash, track inventory, and complete required training for safe alcohol service. The role requires experience with a variety of beverages, strong customer service, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, including a variety of drinks.
• Experience recognizing intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolving issues.
• Experience following proper cash handling procedures.
• Must be able to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Must be physically able to lift 5–10, 10–20 and up to 40 pounds as needed.
• Must meet the minimum age requirement for serving alcohol.
• Two years of experience as a bartender (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepares drinks following established recipes and serves patrons directly or to staff.
• Maintains a presentable, sanitary bar area and stocks inventory.
• Operates bar equipment and ensures proper sanitation of glassware and utensils.
• Maintains accurate inventory records and assists with cash handling documentation.
• Completes required training for serving alcohol and adheres to safety procedures.
• Identifies unruly patrons and resolves issues according to procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
