Zing Recruiting is partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer to fill a Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician role in Birmingham, AL. The position focuses on robotic systems, automated production equipment, and PLC/electrical maintenance within a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to equipment breakdowns. This direct hire offers a $30.00–$40.00 hourly pay and a 5pm–5am shift.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with robotic systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and electrical schematics.
• Safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain robotic systems and automated equipment.
• Support industrial robots, programming, and teach pendant operations.
• Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment (Allen Bradley).
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production gear.
• Handle hydraulics, pneumatics, motor controls, and VFDs.
• Support robotic weld cells and welding operations.
• Execute preventive/predictive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
• Document work orders in CMMS and follow safety procedures.

Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician (Zing)

Zing Recruiting is partnering with a leading automotive manufacturing company to find an experienced Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician to join their team! This role supports advanced manufacturing operations, including robotic systems, automated production equipment, and industrial maintenance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional with strong electrical, mechanical, robotics, and PLC troubleshooting experience.

Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician Job Summary:

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience
Shift:5pm to 5am

The Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated manufacturing equipment while ensuring production operations run efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting robotics, PLC-controlled systems, electrical and mechanical equipment, and preventative maintenance programs within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Troubleshoot and maintain robotic systems and automated manufacturing equipment
• Support industrial robots, robotic programming, and robot teach pendant operations
• Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, including Allen Bradley PLC systems
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment
• Troubleshoot hydraulics, pneumatics, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
• Support robotic weld cells and automated welding operations
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment issues
• Utilize CMMS systems to document maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S practices
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production support needs

Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience troubleshooting robotic systems and automated production equipment
• PLC troubleshooting experience required
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience maintaining manufacturing production equipment
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Robot programming and teach pendant experience
• Experience modifying robotic paths and programs
• Robotic welding or MIG weld cell maintenance experience
• VFD troubleshooting and motor controls experience
• CMMS experience (TabWare preferred)
• Technical degree or Journeyman Certification
