Job summary

CQA Solutions, LLC is seeking reliable Field Technicians to perform on-site construction monitoring, inspection, and documentation of compacted clay and geosynthetic liner systems at landfills and related projects. You’ll conduct inspections of soil and geosynthetic liners, perform soil density tests, evaluate results, and document daily activities with written reports and sketches.

Travel to project sites is required and expenses are covered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nuclear gauge training and certification required.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans.
• Strong communication, organization, and basic math skills (including volume calculations).

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection and testing of soil and geosynthetic liners.
• Perform soil density testing (nuclear gauge and/or microwave); sand cone and drive cylinder experience a plus.
• Evaluate test results, track borrow samples, and calculate material placement volumes.
• Document daily activities; prepare reports and as-built sketches.
• Review daily reports and paperwork for accuracy.
• Work with grade stakes and basic surveying concepts (GPS experience a plus).
• Identify soil types and assess geosynthetic materials for defects.

CQA Solutions provides Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) services for waste containment facilities. We’re looking for reliable Field Technicians to perform on-site construction monitoring, inspection, and documentation of compacted clay and geosynthetic liner systems at landfills and related projects.

What you’ll do

• Conduct construction inspection and testing of soil and geosynthetic liners
• Perform soil density testing (nuclear gauge and/or microwave); sand cone and drive cylinder experience a plus
• Evaluate test results, identify issues, track borrow samples, and calculate material placement volumes
• Document daily activities, prepare written/computer reports, and create as-built sketches
• Review daily reports and paperwork for accuracy
• Work with grade stakes and basic surveying concepts (GPS experience a plus)
• Identify soil types and evaluate geosynthetic materials for defects/blemishes

Schedule & physical requirements

• Typically 6–7 days per week with extensive overtime during projects
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license required
• Travel to project sites (out-of-town expenses covered)
